This 1970's era Gucci paperweight would make a great Christmas gift. It is remarkably heavy for it's size. The case is goldtone with a raised enamel logo in their signature red. The piece is also marked on the bottom.

I don't have room on my desk for one more thing- but I'd make room for this. Vintage designer decorative objects and home accessories are difficult to come by. I've never seen a Gucci paper weight before this- are you sure that is what it is?
i think this is an actual paper weight. they always do random stuff like this. i do wonder if its gold plate or gold color. any input?
Yes it is definitely a paperweight. It kind of looks like an old compact, which I love, until you pick it up and realize how heavy it is. I believe it is goldtone and not goldplate since it is not stamped except for the Gucci stamp.
