Two things make this simple belt special. The color, which straddles the line between navy and charcoal grey in a cool matte finish, looks clean and modern. And the buckle, with its slightly oriental shape and inlaid leather fill, gives this belt the little bit of character it needed.

Rhinestone Frog Belt

You've probably noticed that I'm big on these slinky metal belts right now. I think they look right worn at the waist over a cardigan for fall layering. It's a nice transition to the inevitable high waisted look (which is already hitting big here in Los Angeles). I also love the black rhinestones against the gold (just as in the lion necklace below). The animal clasp could be a frog or a turtle or maybe something else- I'm not quite sure.

Lanvin Red Skinny Belt Enamel Buckle

Found yesterday! Love this vintage (1980's?) Lanvin fire engine red skinny belt. The belt is split down the middle so that when you wear it the colors beneath peek through as you move. This is the kind of accessory that can make a little black dress. My favorite detail is the enamel logo buckle. Found in perfect condition- looks as if it has never been worn!

Adorable Suede Belt
I wish you could feel this suede. I believe it is lamb- it is supple and soft- especially for it's age. I'm thinking early 1970s. Sash style that is wider in the center of the belt than on the ends. Beautiful handmade wood buckle with two tones- darker in the center of the circle than on the ends. Just lovely and perfect to tie over a light sweater dress. I know the photo makes the leather look worn, but I assure you it is in perfect vintage condition. No stains or scratches. This belt is about 32" long and is available for $75.
